Frequently asked questions
Q. Can I put up a pop up tent ?
A. Yes and No, you cannot take up a spot needed to park a vehicle, you CANNOT use pegs as there is an underground sprinkler system. Any tents approved must be weighted down with tent weights or sandbags. You will be liable for any damage caused to guests or vehicles should the wind pick up.
Be prepared to take off your tent top in the event you feel the wind picking up.
Q. Can I rope off my vehicle
A. Absolutely ! We know that there are many expensive and unique vehicles coming to our show and we understand that they may have to be protected.
Q. Why do I have to pay to display my vehicle?
A. Like most shows we charge an administration fee of $20 which helps to cover the costs of putting on the event including obtaining relevant insurance, the provisions of facilities such as toilets, and the costs of any staff, signs, advertising etc. The fee is $25 at the show if you have not pre registered
Q. How does the exhibitor parking work? Do you park in classes?
A. No, we love the variety and breadth of the cars on display, and we feel it adds an extra something to the show.
Q. What time do I need to arrive if I am exhibiting my car?
A. Entry for exhibitors (including Clubs) opens at 7am and closes between 8:30 and 9:00am. based on how many spectators are on the field, we are in a public park and have to be extra careful. “but” we will be there much earlier and if you want to drop off your car we will of course let you in. Please ensure that you arrive on time if you want to show your car on the event field. – moving cars and pedestrians do not mix well!
Q. What happens if I am delayed, but still want to exhibit my car?
A. We cannot permit any entry for exhibitors to the show field itself after 9:00am, but we do have some limited VIP parking at the edge of the field.
Q. Are there any awards at the shows?
No, this is a friendly event, no awards or egos
Q. Can I sell products at the show
A. ONLY approved vendors can sell any products, email us if you want to be a vendor
Q. Why do you insist that vehicles must be on display from 9:00am to 2:00pm?
A. As part of our planning with the venues, our insurer and local councils, we work to ensure an orderly and safe event for all. It is an important part of our commitment to the venue (and a requirement of our insurance) that the vehicles will be on site and static during the period when the public are in attendance. We do understand that, for some shows, the weather may make staying for the entire event difficult, but generally speaking we hugely appreciate the support and dedication of our exhibitors in ensuring that each show is a great experience for everyone. As we are in a community park and open to the public it is very dangerous to have cars moving around. We have the park until 5:00 so there is no rush to leave.
Q. What if I need to leave early for an emergency?
A. We will authorise a small number of early departures to cover any genuine, unforeseen emergencies.
Q. Can I stay after the show is over
A. Absolutely! we have the park until 5:00 you are welcome to stay until then.
Q. I am a member of a club – How do I book a club stand space?
A. Just ask.. We encourage Clubs to set up a display to keep this hobby alive
Q. I’ve missed pre-booking, can I still attend?
A. Yes, you are still more than welcome to join us. Just show up on time and the welcoming attendant will create car number for you. The cost will be $25 and we only accept cash at the gate - of course subject to availability and/or space constraints.
